01/05 Discover the Silk Way
Proton Music welcomes in 2009 with a first for us-- a collaborative effort with another label. We have teamed up with Silk Digital, a 1-year old progressive imprint out of Russia that has proven quality progressive house is alive and well.

The "Silk Way" LP is a collection of 6 exclusive new tracks from 8 exciting artists hand picked by Proton Music from the Silk Digital roster. Deep, spacey, melodic, and progressive sounds define this release-- from the IDM infused chillout opening track by Alex Rize to the peak time closing tracks by Mango & Monojoke. The release also features gorgeous tunes from Arthur Deep, Embliss, Elfsong, Shoreliners, and Aeron Aether.

Fans of the Silk Digital can check out the Silk Textures show on Proton Radio as well as past releases on the Silk Digital label. Tracks off the LP will also be making appearances in EP or single form on both Proton Music and Silk Digital.

12/31 His Boy Elroy returns on Proton Music: Stop Motion EP
To listen to the sounds of His Boy Elroy as 2008 comes to a close might make you forget the glory days of progressive breaks when Way Out West & Hybrid thrilled us with their orchestral & melodic epics. Not to pigeonhole Tim Holt (aka His Boy Elroy), but his music definitely fills a void in our heart.

You might think you're listening to Battlestar Galactica or a battle sequence from a Jerry Bruckenheimer flick when you dive into "Ghosts", a high octane instrumental breakbeat number that is easily Tim's best production to date. Do not miss this track.

The Stop Motion EP is out now exclusively at Beatport and features two other Progressive House cuts-- "Starfall" and the title track "Stop Motion".

12/30 Meyrick rides the Elefant
Hailing from hazy Nottingham, United Kingdom, 'Meyrick' brings togheter a crafty mix of melodic drum and bass, atmospheric synths and pads that reminisce the 90's underground electronica scene in Detroit, New York City and Chicago.

On Elefant's first digital LP Meyrick immerses the listener into the nostalgic sounds of Aphex Twin, Autechre and Boards of Canada. The release is out now exclusively at Beatport.

Frustrated that 'Unsigned' was the most played label on the station after four years of broadcasting, it was only a matter of time that Proton Radio would try its hand in the music business.

The Proton compilation series will feature exclusively compiled DJ sets previously un-aired on Proton while showcasing tracks submitted by artists to support the station.
